The number of online short video users in China reached 873 million by the end of last year, surging 100 million compared with March 2020 and accounting for 88% of the internet-using population, according to a report on China's internet development released Wednesday.
中國互聯網絡信息中心2月3日發佈的《中國互聯網絡發展狀況統計報告》顯示，截至2020年12月，我國網絡短視頻用戶規模8.73億，較2020年3月增長1億，佔網民整體的88%，網絡視頻節目質量大幅提升。
The report, issued by the China Internet Network Information Center, notes the quality improvement of online video programs. Per the report, China's streaming platforms have been improving their business models and investing more in short videos to bring audiences more quality content.
報告稱，國內各大流媒體平臺優化商業模式，加大對短視頻的投資，為用戶推出更多優質內容。
At the same time, short video platforms are introducing trial projects such as mini dramas or shows, before gradually landing in the field of long videos.
與此同時，短視頻片平臺也開始推出"微劇"、"微綜藝"來試水，再逐漸進入長視頻領域。
